Hightae Artist Group

The Hightae Artists are a group of like-minded amateur artists who meet on Wednesday mornings in the Royal  Four Towns Hall. They were formed in 2006 by a handful of interested folk who simply thought that  spending some time together painting would be better than doing their own thing at home with telephones ringing and all of those interruptions that  instantly accumulate and detract from the matter at hand. That small group increased
rapidly and within 2 years reached the present figure of about 20 members.

A typical painting day has all who attend tackling their own 'masterpiece' in their own style and using different materials.

Each member is different and this has led to a lot of transmission of ideas and styles and an enormous friendship  within the group. From the very beginning it was decided that there would be no committee, nor any formal teaching, and this has continued . There has also emerged a delightful crossing of ideas, encouragement and readiness to help each other and giving of advice if this is asked for......and of course tea, coffee and biscuits laced with chat and a peep of each other's work.

We have an exhibition of our work once a year in the Hall and reckon to exhibit about 100 works between us. For the last 2 years we have also exhibited away from home and this has been a great experience for us all.
